Incorporated on January 22, 1987, the Southeast South Dakota Tourism Association is a non-profit organization dedicated toward increasing the economic impact of the visitor industry on Southeastern South Dakota. The Southeast South Dakota region, consisting of 14 counties, is divided into five districts. The association's 15-member board of directors is divided into groups of three-members representing each district. Funding is provided through memberships, S.D. Vacation Guide and Off The Beaten Path ad sales and a contract with the S.D. Department of Tourism, with a fiscal year beginning July 1st and ending June 30th. Our purpose is to promote tourism in Southeast South Dakota by working together with the S.D. Dept. of Tourism and other regional tourism associations.
