Nestled on the shores of Lewis and Clark Lake, six miles west of Yankton, Lewis and Clark Rec Area is one of the most popular campgrounds in the region and it’s easy to see why. Boasting the largest marina in the state, a restaurant within walking distance, and over 400 campsites, Lewis and Clark is like a home away from home. Camping at Lewis and Clark can be as simple as bringing your own tent or camper, or you can stay in a camping cabin. Or bring your horses and stay at one of the horse campsites, then enjoy a ride on the horse trails nearby. At Lewis and Clark Lake, you can swim at one of two beaches, bike or hike the trails that follow the water’s edge and lead up to scenic overlooks of the lake, go disc golfing, and of course, enjoy the water while fishing, boating, tubing, kayaking – the options goes on and on!
