Creatures of the Night Scavenger Hunt at State Parks

This October SD State Parks are having a Creatures of the Night HIKE & SEEK Scavenger Hunt!
Southeast SD participating park trails include:

  • Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve, N. Sioux City - Donkey Run Loop
  • Good Earth State Park at Blood Run, Sioux Falls - Vista Loop Trail
  • Lake Herman State Park & Walker's Point Recreation Area, Madison - Luce Hiking Trail
  • Lake Vermillion Recreation Area, Canistota - Otter Stream Trail
  • Lewis & Clark Recreation Area, Yankton - Gavin’s Point Nature Trail
  • Newton Hills State Park, Canton - Woodland Trail
  • Game, Fish & Parks Outdoor Campus - Sioux Falls, Main Trails
  • Palisades State Park, Garretson - South Wall Trail

Can you find what goes bump in the night? Just hike the trails, keeping your eyes open for info signs and hidden nocturnal animal pictures along the way. Find code words on each animal sign, snap a selfie of your group and enter the prize drawing!
Bring a flashlight to help you see any nocturnal creatures along the way!
