Funski includes an eclectic variety of winter events: skiing, snowboarding, team snow tubing, Frozen Leg kickball, snow sculpture and of course, cross country skiing. The event has become the premier outdoor winter event in southeastern South Dakota. The event has raised almost a half million dollars for the Children’s Inn, a domestic abuse shelter for women and children in Sioux Falls.

SCHEDULE

FRIDAY - JANUARY 17, 2020
Snow Sculpture Contest – 9 am to 8 pm
Event Kick-Off Party – 5:45 pm
Snow Tube Races – Time Trials at 6:30 pm, Races at 7 pm ($200/team)
Rail Jam – 6:30 pm ($15 or 17 & Under, $25 or 18 & Over)
Snow Sculpture Contest Judging – 8 pm
Music in the Chalet - 9 pm

SATURDAY - JANUARY 18, 2020
Fat Bike Race (In front of Chalet and Beginner Hill) - 8 am ($15 or 17 & Under, $25 or 18 & Over)
Cross Country Ski Race – 10 am ($15 or 17 & Under, $25 or 18 & Over)
Snow Soccer – 10 am ($50/team)
Downhill Corporate Cup - 1 pm ($15 or 17 & Under, $25 or 18 & Over)
Snowboard Giant Slalom – 3 pm ($15 or 17 & Under, $25 or 18 & Over)
Zipfy Sled Races – 4 pm ($10 all ages)

Most skiing and boarding events have Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced categories so everyone is welcome. If you participate in a Funski event, you support Children’s Inn, and that is what this event is about.

Awards ceremonies generally take place about 15 minutes after each event ends, in the bar area of the chalet.
